| Biography: |
Despite
being inexperienced in managerial terms, Watson is one of
the most renowned and respected players in non-league football.
His playing career came mostly at the lower levels of the
football pyramid and his clubs include Maghull, Warrington
Town, Marine, Witton Albion, Accrington Stanley and 2 spells
at Runcorn, which he still fulfilled this season in a player-manager
capacity making a substitute appearance in Runcorn's win
at Southport.
The 33-year old took over at Runcorn in September 2000,
and, working on a shoe-string budget guided the Linnets
to a 15th place finish in 2001/2002. Watson took a number
of promising Sandgrounders to the Halton Stadium, showing
he can work with youth and is able to make them produce
the goods on the field. |
