The Lesser Whitethroat is an uncommon spring and autumn migrant to Portland that may breed in small numbers.
Birds showing the characteristics of one or other of the forms of 'Eastern' Lesser Whitethroat have occurred - such as at the Bill between October 15th and October 19th 2000, and Perryfields between November 7th and November 8th 2000. Although both birds were examined in the hand, conclusive assignment to a particular subspecies was not possible in either case.
