![]() It is a sobering thought for many fans that the Laura they see in their minds; the little girl running around the prairies, was an old lady when she wrote her books, and even that was over half a century ago. Laura died in 1957 and is buried with Almanzo in Mansfield Cemetery. There is no problem finding her tombstone for the unofficial grassless path has been worn by countless numbers of feet over the years. The stone is adorned by flowers and other gifts left by those wanting to say thank you. Their daughter, Rose's stone is to the right. Silas and Neta Seal's tomb is also there. They were Laura and Almanzo's 'young friends' which also bears witness to the passage of time. |
