If you have entered this site through a link which is not allowing screen-width viewing please note that the direct url is http://www.btinternet.com/~prosearch/index.html

If you have any problem using the site or have any comments to make about it then please e-mail me at FamousRaider@btinternet.com ~ I designed, built, and maintain the site using AOLpress, and as I'm a bit of a "software technophobe" advice is always welcome !

Research undertaken at The National Archives (The Public Record Office, as it used to be known), Kew, Surrey, and all major Military Archives ~ Medal and Service Record searches ~ War Diaries and Operational Records ~ Military Maps ~ Army , Navy, Royal Flying Corps & RAF records ~ Published & Unpublished material ~ Newspapers & Periodicals ~ etc.

I offer a research resource primarily aimed at tracing the military service of Officers and Men who served in the British and Dominion Forces during 20th Century conflicts (particularly during the Great War) and also the operational records of British and Dominion land, sea, and air forces during that period. I also carry out a restricted range of search processes for the periods pre 1914 and post 1921. Military research sources relevant to Women's services during World War One are also detailed in this site.

Unlike many other "researchers" I offer a full-time professional service with a foundation based on many years experience in dealing with prime source British military records. Military research is my full-time occupation, not, as is commonly the case, an adjunct to some other career. I rarely use secondary source material and I never sub-contract any aspect of any research commission. I live close to the PRO and carry out research there on an almost daily basis. In the majority of cases I am able to offer a firm fixed-price quotation at the outset.

Links to specific areas of research are highlighted below. Please contact me directly if you have an enquiry which falls into an area which is not specifically mentioned. The following sub-pages are currently available, just click on the relevant subject title:-

I'm afraid that I will be unable to
help you with enquiries involving Australian Convicts, Beer Mat
Design Patents, Business records, Census Returns, Coast Guards,
Colonial Office Records,Customs
& Excise, Death Duties, Emigrants, Immigrants, 15th Century Wax
Seals, Police Records, Probate,
Wills & Administration, Knitting Patterns, Embroidery, Origami
...
etc. You need one of the many researchers who will turn their
hand to anything if you want to
cover those subjects as well.

If you want Military Records & Genealogy Research, and nothing
else, and you want it conducted by someone to whom the areas where
the Great War was fought are
not just names in a book, then
you are on the right site.
