This section offers links to other web sites that we think you may like to visit. Click on a link in the menu on the left to select a category of links. The World Wide Web (WWW) is composed of millions of web pages stored on thousands of inter-connected computers around the world. Each web page has a unique address - just as each house or flat has a unique address - called a URL. For example, the unique address (URL) of the home page of this web site is http://www.pvgvethospital.co.uk/index.htm. HyperText Mark-up Language - HTML - is used to create web pages. A key features of HTML is the ability to create hypertext links between web pages so that viewers can easily jump from one page to another. These links are commonly displayed as blue underlined text (see our menu on the left) but images are also often used as 'buttons' to represent links - as we have used them in the menu at the bottom of this page, for example. A web site is simply a set of linked web pages about a particular subject, product, company or organisation. But links can also be used to direct the viewer to pages on other web sites. We've chosen to group our links to other web sites into a separate section of the site. If you come across a web site that you think we should link to then make a note of the URL and let us know and we'll take a look and add it to our links if we agree. |
