Level I is concerned mainly with Fuzang Anmo (Internal Organ Massage). This a non-invasive
method of Chinese deep healing massage. Focused primarily on the abdomen Fuzang Anmo makes use
of the fluid and energy flows of all the major systems in the body: digestive, cardiovascular,
respiratory, lymphatic, nervous, muscle/tendon, and acupuncture channels.
There are no prerequisites for this course. It is assumed the student has no prior knowledge
of Chinese Therapeutic Massage or Traditional Chinese Medicine.
- Aims
- 1. To have a basic understanding of Fuzang Anmo.
- 2. To have a basic understanding of Chinese Traditional Medicine in relation to Fuzang Anmo.
- Objectives
- 1. To be able to answer the question: What is Chinese Therapeutic Massage?
- 2. To be able to demonstrate the basic diagnostic techniques of Fuzang Anmo.
- 3. To be able to give a full Fuzang Anmo treatment.
- Course Content
- 1. TCM theory
- 2. TCM abdominal diagnosis
- 3. Abdominal anatomy
- 4. Fuzang Anmo theory and techniques
- 5. Prescriptions for common conditions
- 6. Lots of practical massage work
- The student will need the following books:
- Chi Nei Tsang: Internal Organ Massage by Mantak Chia
- Chinese Medicine: The Web that has no Weaver by Ted Kaptchuk
The student will also need to bring a blanket and a pillow to each session.
- Requirements for Certification
- 1. Attend the full Level I practitioner’s training course
- 2. Present 100 case studies
- 3. Complete a final practical exam
