Rhine Crossing
A letter from Lt Col H H B Clegg Commanding Officer of 7th Survey to all ranks dated 17 June 1945, describing their contribution to this attack, attached to the letter was a map of the 12 Corp's front showing Bases, AP's.OP's occupied by 7th survey, including located enemy positions.(7th Survey Regiment Rhine Crossing Map). During the day prior to this operation and on the day itself General Montogemery spent time at C-post B-Troop 54 Bty 7th Survey Regiments OPassessing the situation, also the Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill together with Sir Alan Brooke watched from the high ground close to 54Bty HQ part of the Airborne invasion (see Ron Jackson's Diary) also the regimental War Diary for this day.
