command 141 Fd.
C.B.O. kept Comp Bty Comdr with one Tp Survey and Survey B.H.Q.
under his own hand.
F.S. obs. Sec. allotted general observation role.
Evening F.S. obs sec. deployed and carried out meteor shoots.
F.S. obs sec. given role to watch approaches to Faversham from
Whitstable Canterbury Chilham. The only possible O.Ps. found
were forward of the F.D.L.S. and were therefore withdrawn by the
C.R.A.
Survey Tp and Survey B.H.Q. were used to assist in surveying
present posns of three Fd and one Med regt, all guns being on the
permanent grid.
1900 hrs Comp B.H.Q. moved into Parsonage Farm 436779.

0845 Hrs Liaison Officer Comp Bty received orders from C.R.A. for Comp Bty

Comdr to report for orders.
0920 " C.R.A's. orders completed, being to put 112 and 114 Fd and 74 Med
regts on the permanent grid in reserve positions.
Recces of the areas were carried out, visibility being bad and the
country difficult.
1030 " C.R.A sent for Comp Bty Comdr and gave orders for F.S. obs. sec. to
deployed to watch exits from Wye.
74 Med ordered S.R. Tp to move area Belmont 4275.
1340 " F.S. obs. sec. post in action after difficult recce and many useful
general targets such at M.T. concentrations, infantry & M.T. move-
ment were indicated to the C.B.O.
1400 " F.S. Rg. Sec. base in action area Throwley 4373 having been
deployed by 141 Fd, and carried out routine meteor shoots.
1430 " S.R. Tp ordered to deploy
1630 " S.R. base in action
1730 " F.S. obs sec post withdrawn to avoid capture
B.H.Q. moved to Deanshill 315733
2000 " All guns were on the permanent grid in this position

0830 " C.R.As. orders - Tp. Survey to go to Faversham and put 141 and
74 Med on grid.
F.S. obs.sec to put out an O.P. or O.Ps. to watch the approaches
to Charing from Westwell and Ashford.
1020 " S.R. Tp moved with 74 Med to Faversham but were not deployed and
furnished officers and 30 O.Rs for patrols and protection.
1045 " F.S. obs. Sec. O.P. in action at 399688 and gave much information
re tanks, infantry movement etc.
1600 " Survey for 141 Fd and 74 Med completed in close and difficult
country.
1630 " F.S. Rg. Sec. deployed and in action area Faversham in contact with
141 Fd and 74 Med.
1920 " F.S. obs. Sec.. O.P. withdrawn during first dark in view of attacks
by enemy patrols and in action rear position at 356710.
Visibility was bad with much mist on the high ground.
F.S. Rg. Sec carried out meteor shoots during the night.
27 Nov Survey B.H.Q. carried out general recce in rear area during the day
and established 4 B.P.s
0025 " Comp Bty Liaison. Lia: officer at R.A.H.Q. received information
that 141 Fd were withdrawing to area Hollingbourne 2873 and arrange-
ments were made with the Adjutant personally to assist in putting
the guns on the grid at first light.
