Battle of Dresden

We played this in 1998 at Sheffield Triples. Alas there are no other files I can find but there is a map. It was our first game at Triples. This is the game that gave rise to the great “Drainage Ditch” incident. Bearing in mind that this the ground scale is 1”=100 yards and that units are usually regiments of 1000 men or more – that is this is BIG scale gaming ; we were rather non plussed when some idiot took in the game with its massed columns and huge batteries and announced “You have missed off a drainage ditch!”. On later questioning it was established that one regiment had some slight difficulty navigating over a drainage ditch a couple of hundred yards long. IN our scale perhaps 2” if that. No wonder the public think we are anoraks!
