I hope that you have all enjoyed the start of the
season and that you are pleased with your results!
Please find the draw for the first two rounds of
the Divisional Scratch Cup attached. This has already been sent out to each team
captain by post but it is useful to have again.

| The Yeovil Closed Tournament will be held at Westfield School on 7th March – further details will be sent out nearer the date. |

| The Yeovil & District under 14’s Open Tournament will be held at Westfield School on 21st March 2010. |

| The
ETTA have now revised their ruling on service so please can everyone read
the guidance below and in the spirit of the Yeovil & District League
please comply. |
“2.6.6
It is the responsibility of the player to serve so that the umpire or the
assistant umpire can be satisfied that he complies with the requirements
for a good service.
2.6.6.1
If either the umpire or the assistant umpire is doubtful of
the legality of a service he may, on the first occasion in a match interrupt
play and warn the server”

On a
lighter note Chris Glover was upset to read in the minutes of the 21st
July that it was a John Glover who won the pot doubles with Tom Whitlock and not
himself, as he believed!

Don’t
forget the 65th English Open ITTF Pro Tour Major is being held in
Sheffield from 28th October – 1st November – look out
for it on the TV!

I am sure
you would all like to join with me in thanking Geoff Argent for his fantastic
work on the handbook this year. He came up trumps despite problems with his
computer and the committee are truly grateful – thanks Geoff!

On 17th
October there is the Somerset Group Veterans competition at St Augustine’s,
Taunton.
·
Can you please also note that Westfield Vipers in Division 3
have changed their home night from Wed to Thurs
