“Yorkshire Pudding II” Road Motor Outing 15th - 17th June 2012
We invite you to join us on our three-day steam and diesel extravaganza to God's own county of Yorkshire! Our outline itinerary for the weekend is –
Friday 15th June – depart Bristol mid-morning (pick-ups and connections by arrangement, but will include Bristol Parkway station) and travel to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for a full round trip. We then travel on to our overnight halt in Scarborough.
Saturday 16th June – Travel to Grosmont, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, where the following options are available -
a) Unlimited travel all day on the NYMR, including steam haulage to/from Whitby and opportunity to visit shed; or
b) Travel Grosmont – Whitby – Levisham - Grosmont on NYMR thence to Leeming Bar for heritage diesel haulage to Redmire & return on the Wensleydale Railway. Note that there is a maximum supplement of £12.00, payable on the day, applicable to this option.
Return to Scarborough for free evening/overnight halt.
Sunday 17th June – travel to Leeds for ride on the Middleton Railway, then after lunch on to Peak Rail (which is near, rather than in, Yorkshire!) for a round trip from Rowsley South to their new terminus at Matlock. Return to Bristol by 8.00 p.m.
The fares, which include all road motor and all steam train travel, two nights hotel accommodation and breakfast are –
- Adult: £130.00
- Senior Citizen: £118.00
- Juniors (5-16): £80.00
Non-members supplement £3.00 all classes. All accommodation is in single rooms Please note that all refreshments (apart from breakfast on 16th/17th) and admissions to attractions other than those specified above are extra.
Bookings (on the official form only) will be accepted from 10th January 2012, deposits only of £30.00 per person to be included with booking. Cheques/PO’s payable to “GWS Bristol Group”. Balance may be paid by instalments; all balances payable by 8th May 2012, deposits will not be refunded after this date.
