POINTS TO NOTE

PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO SEASON TICKET HOLDERS where necessary

CAMPERS & CARAVANS. Committee members Ken and Shirley Bunting will be camping at Cathedral Grange, so there will be representatives of the festival on site. Please note that overnight stays are not permitted at Netherstowe or any of the Festival venues.

Owners of Campervans and Caravans may care to note that there is a HEIGHT RESTRICTION of 1.9 metres (6 foot 3inches) in the multi-storey car-park in Lichfield Centre. In addition, there are severe width restrictions and tight bends, so it is unsuitable for camper vans. On a Saturday, all a campervan has to do is drive past the Wade St Church hall entrance in Frog Lane and turn left 50 metres afterwards, just before Lichfield District Council’s offices, into their car park, which is open to the public at weekends, adjacent to WS13 6YZ.  Cars, please note the multi-storey charges are less.

BADER HALL: turn off Upper St.John Street into Borrowcop Lane, then immediately turn left into Kings Hill Road and the School is a few hundred yards on the right. The entrance lies up some steps between the leisure centre and another building. If driving, continue up past the tennis courts and follow the road round to the left up the hill where you can park and enter the hall at the back.

BOLEY PARK COMMUNITY CENTRE is easier to find from Netherstowe now the Council has added a new road name sign at our request! Cross the lights at Birmingham Road and after a mile, turn right into the Co-op Superstore car park, just before a T-junction with a painted island where Ryknild St changes to Austin Cote Lane, and where the new signs are. Please drive to the far side of the car park (ie the left hand side as viewed on entry), the community centre is at the top end, to the left of the Co-op. Parking is free but the entrance side (ie the right hand side) is for shoppers, so use the far side. Also here is a petrol station, a post office, newsagents, chemist, a cash point, a Co-op café, a florist, a pub which serves meals, plus the Superstore. Routes to Netherstowe and Bader Hall are on the map.

GUILDHALL is on Bore St opposite Breadmarket St in pedestrian zone.

THE FESTIVAL OFFICE is in Netherstowe School (Festival base) and will be open as follows:

Friday 5.30pm to 10.00pm
Saturday 9.15am to 10.30am
Saturday 12.30 pm to 1.15pm

The manager is Penny McLennan.

PROGRAMME: Please note changes to the times/events from the original ticket booking forms. You may note more than usual overlaps between sessions in this year’s schedule. Timetabling is always a delicate balance, and this year the overlaps are designed to give the best choice to everyone. We always welcome your feedback, however, so keep sending those comments!

SONG. Singarounds will be arranged; look out for details.

DANCE DISPLAYS. Where any collection is taken, this will be in aid of St Giles Hospice.

REFRESHMENTS.

There are plenty of pubs and eating-places in Lichfield

See notes under ‘Boley Park CC’ for details of places to eat near that venue.

Refreshments will be provided for the duration of the Festival at Netherstowe School by D & T (David & Tracey: evening meals on Friday and Saturday as well as lunches on Saturday and Sunday. JJ Catering are unable to come this year, due to Kim’s operation – we wish her all the best for a speedy recovery). Look out for notices on how to pre-order your meals for quick service.

There will also be Saturday lunches at the Methodist Church Hall.

We regret we are not able to offer food at the other dances, although there will be tea, coffee and/or squash.

WORSHIPPING FOLK: Worship God together with dance, song and prayer at the special service designed just for the Festival. Each year there is a theme for the service, and this year it is folk song. Sunday morning at 9.30 in the Little Theatre at Netherstowe School. Chris Polhill is Chaplain to the Festival.
