As a Full Member of the Pet Dog Trainers of Europe, Sally has lectured both in this country and on mainland Europe (Austria, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Iceland, Sweden and Spain) on the holistic approach to living with a dog, canine nutrition, and the use of complementary therapies in maintaining the dog’s optimum health.
In 2002, Sally qualified as an Essential Oil Therapist for Animals with the Guild of Essential Oil Therapists for Animals. She is also a human Nutritionist and one of only a few non-veterinary people to have the C&G Certificate in Small Animal Nutrition
Ron Askew B.Sc.(Hons), MBTER
Ron was brought up having dogs in the family - over the years his father, uncle, and grandfather owned labradors, terriers (various), and springer spaniels, which were used for gun-dog work.
Ron worked in the communications industry for nearly 30 years, firstly as an electronics engineer, and then as a software/database consultant. In common with a lot sedentary workers he had developed a bad back over the years, and was persuaded by a Bowen student to be one of her case studies. The second treatment session had such a profound effect on his back that he and Sally decided they needed to find out more about the Bowen Technique for themselves.
They qualified as Bowen Therapists on humans in January 2002 and since then, with the consent and help of local vets, have worked on adapting the use of Bowen for dogs, where they have had great success.
They have also attended workshops in Canine Acupressure, Shiatsu for Dogs, and Canine Touch®, and some elements of this course have been influenced by these other therapies.
Shane Morrison BVSc(Hons), CertSAS, MRCVS
Shane graduated from the University of Melbourne with first class honours in 1991. He has since obtained the CertSAS - a postgraduate qualification in small animal surgery, awarded to fewer than 15 vets in Britain each year. This allows him to perform more involved procedures including spinal surgery, complicated orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. Shane has been living and working in East Anglia for more than ten years and with his wife Charlotte runs a busy referral veterinary practice in Ipswich.
Charlotte Morrison VN
Charlotte is an experienced qualified Veterinary Nurse. She is also trained as an Advanced Pet Health Counsellor, which enables her to run puppy parties and weight clinics as well as give advice on general dietary requirements, worming and flea treatment, and managing the older pet.
Charlotte and Shane have two sons and a daughter, two dogs and two cats. They became interested in Canine Bowen Technique after sessions on their Border Terrier ‘Bunyip’ following cruciate ligament surgery.
Dr. med vet Maya Bräm MRCVS
After finishing her studies in veterinary medicine in Switzerland, Maya specialized in veterinary behaviour medicine with the Swiss veterinary association STVV. After finding that she was interested both in research and the practical aspects of animal behaviour, she did some post-graduate research into the communication between dogs and humans at the University of Lincoln which led to her being in charge of the animal behaviour clinic of the university for a year.
The observation that physical and behaviour problems are often linked sparked her interest in a more holistic approach to working with animals (and their owners) which led to her studying herbal medicine for animals in the UK and to learning the Bowen Technique for dogs and humans.
Back in Switzerland, she is now working on setting up her own practice for veterinary behaviour and herbal medicine and the Canine Bowen Technique.
