Ron Askew B.Sc.(Hons), MBTER
Ron was brought up having dogs in the family - over the years his father, uncle, and grandfather owned labradors, terriers (various), and springer spaniels, which were used for gun-dog work.
Ron worked in the communications industry for nearly 30 years, firstly as an electronics engineer, and then as a software/database consultant. In common with a lot sedentary workers he had developed a bad back over the years, and was persuaded by a Bowen student to be one of her case studies. The second treatment session had such a profound effect on him that he and Sally decided they needed to find out more about the Bowen Technique for themselves.
They qualified as Human Bowen Therapists in January 2002 and since then, with the consent and help of local vets, have worked on the use of the Bowen Technique with dogs, where they have had great success.
They have also attended workshops in Canine Acupressure, Shiatsu for Dogs, and Canine Touch®, and some elements of this course have been influenced by these other therapies.
Shane Morrison BVSc(Hons), CertSAS, MRCVS
Shane graduated from the University of Melbourne with first class honours in 1991. He has since obtained the CertSAS - a postgraduate qualification in small animal surgery, awarded to fewer than 15 vets in Britain each year. This allows him to perform more involved procedures including spinal surgery, complicated orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. Shane has been living and working in East Anglia for the last ten years and with his wife Charlotte runs a busy referral veterinary practice in Ipswich.
Charlotte Morrison VN
Charlotte is a qualified vet nurse of twelve years experience. She is also trained as an Advanced Pet Health Counsellor, which enables her to run puppy parties and weight clinics as well as give advice on general dietary requirements, worming and flea treatment, and managing the older pet.
Charlotte and Shane have two sons, a daughter, two dogs and two cats. They became interested in Canine Bowen after Bowen sessions on their Border Terrier ‘Bunyip’ following cruciate ligament surgery.
Kate Rew BVSc(Hons), MRCVS, Cert VetAc(IVAS)
Kate is an experienced veterinary surgeon, graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1990. She was certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) in 2000, and has been a member of the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists (ABVA) since 1997.
