From  Saturday 29th May 1999 to Wednesday 2nd June 1999 we visited our counterparts in Darmstadt.  There were eighteen of us in all with quite a few new faces.

The programme comprised: 

Saturday 29th May: arrival to hosts

Sunday 30th May: walk in Lichtenberg area, visit to castle and museum, barbecue with the Schellhaases

Monday 31st May:  coach visit to Speyer, Roman cathedral, Sinsheim technical museum;

Tuesday 1st June:  FTZ reception and technical visit, barbecue at Griesheim.

Wednesday 2nd June:  guests depart.  Relations with the Germans are good, well organised and with a sense of firm commitment.

The visit went well, with excellent (hot) weather.
