My name is Deborah Salmon, and I am a clarinet teacher based in Redhill, Surrey. If you live in Redhill, Reigate, Dorking or the surrounding parts of East Surrey and are looking for clarinet lessons, or tuition in music theory, then look no further! I offer tuition for all ages and standards (although anyone under nine is probably too young to start learning the clarinet).
Many people choose to learn the clarinet, and it's not difficult to see or hear why. A student model can be purchased very cheaply, and there is a large range of music available for the clarinet. Its repertoire includes the lyrical concerto by Mozart, the modernity of Messiaen's Quatuor pour la fin du temps and the jazziness of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, so there's something to appeal to everyone.
If you already play an instrument or sing, you probably already know some music theory. To progress beyond Grade 5 in any Associated Board exam, you have to have passed Grade 5 Theory, but why struggle to learn it all in a rush before your next exam? I offer theory tuition from the very beginning through to advanced level. If you don't play or sing, an understanding of how music is constructed can still enhance your enjoyment of it.
If you'd like to learn clarinet or music theory with me, then send me an e-mail, or phone me on 01737 772811, to arrange your next lesson. I look forward to hearing from you.
