Forthcoming events

Our next concert is on Sunday 9th December 2007, but you can hear us in action at any time! As part of our Choral Development Initiative we recorded Rutter's much loved Requiem and a selection of his most popular anthems for a professional CD, which was released in September 2003. All pieces were beautifully accompanied by Surrey ProMusica. You can read a report of the recording session here and find out how you can order your copy.

Sacred and Secular, our second CD, was recorded in April 2006, and copies will be available in September 2006. Visit the Sacred and Secular web page to find out more about this CD.

If you can't wait until our next concert to experience the thrill of live performance, why not see what other local groups are doing? We have a web page for other musical groups in the area, with links to their websites where available. For an at-a-glance guide to what's on, visit Bob Barnes' Classical Moments page on the Radio Redhill website for details of concerts in Reigate and the surrounding areas, or the Concert Diary website for details of performances happening both locally, nationally and even internationally.

Saturday 28th June 2008 at 7.30p.m.
Dorking Halls, Dorking

Reigate and Redhill Choral Society's 2007/08 season ends with a stunning all-British programme packed full of drama and energy. Following critically-acclaimed performances of Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace in 2005, the Society will be performing his equally popular Requiem, a work which has featured on television, the Classical Brit awards and in ClassicFM's Hall of Fame. This special performance will be dedicated to the memory of British composing legend Ralph Vaughan Williams, a former resident of Dorking and frequent performer at Dorking Halls. Our season-long tribute to RVW culminates in his glorious Five Mystical Songs. Featuring alongside them will be Songs of Truth and Glory, a setting of the same texts by Howard Blake who celebrates his 70th birthday in 2008. John Ireland's Downland Suite, a work inspired by the beautiful downlands of south-east England, completes this programme of all-British music.

If you would like to take part in these events, why not become a member of Reigate and Redhill Choral Society? Further details of our rehearsal schedule and how you can join are available on the How to join RRCS web page.
