Hello,
My name is Ray Truckle, I'm 54 years old and live in the beautiful village of
Tytherington, South Gloucestershire.
I was born in Bath, Somerset, and even though I always had an interest in Art,
I didn't actually take up the hobby of painting until 1991 following major heart
surgery which resulted in my having extra time on my hands!!
I am married to Marlyn and most of my earlier paintings were painted for her,
which consisted mainly of snow scenes, which she is particularly fond of.
I paint in Oils and Watercolors, although I must admit my preference is Oil.
My inspirations come from almost anything; holidays, my surroundings, books,
other artists, in fact one of my paintings was my impression of a picture on
a biscuit barrell !!
Several of my works adorn the walls of family and friends homes and two or three
are now 'living' in Boston, USA
My other interests, when time permits are building dolls houses to a 1/12 scale,
from my own designs rather than kits. I also make the furnishings etc., for
these houses and shops. Hopefully some of this work will be shown on this site
at a later date.
My Wife and I are also researching our family trees and spend many hours each
'nice day' trudging around grave yards searching for ancestors, not to mention
using the internet for this purpose, which has been invaluable.
All the paintings on my site are available to buy and should there be a particular
one that you may be interested in that is marked 'sold' , then it can be painted
to order, time permitting!
All paintings are unframed and on canvas or board.
