All about Vicky!

Vicky Pollard - Goddess

You already know Vicky Pollard. She's shouting on her mobile phone on the bus. She's in the cash only queue in the supermarket paying by Visa. She's the reason Madonna should never wear shellsuits.

In Little Britain series 1, we're introduced to her early career as an underachiever at school, a single mother, a shoplifter. Her charm, her ladylike spirit, her grace were are an inspiration to a generation of teenage girls everywhere. No matter the situation, she can produce 500 words in under 10 seconds summing up the bigger issues of the day, such as how Janine was behind the bike sheds poking Jason King but don't believe Kelly because she was with Martine with the wierd foot who punched Mary who went out with Joe who got kicked out the supermarket for eating too many cheese samples. These are truly glimpses of a higher being, insights into the modern life of the teenager where the only quality newspaper they see might be wrapping fish and chips.

The good news is that the David Walliams website reveals a new series of Little Britain is in production, meaning more installments of Vicky's life will be ours to share. Sparkling! In the meantime, you can stil catch reruns of the show on BBC3 and Radio 4. You can even purchase the radio show in things called shops, which is where everyone in Britain works.

Join with me in celebrating the Vicky's in all our lives, and enjoy these glimpses into her world and our future. You can find some media and news at the sites under "Vicky Links".

Some Classic Vicky

Yeh, but no, but yeh...
Whenever confronted with something as complex as a question or the truth, Vicky will use her whole intelligence and stall while her mensa rated brain kicks in to consider the most philosophical answer. This leads to fabulous moments of anguish on her face, and her mouth unable to respond in English. Check out this to see her in action!

Vicky in History
Little Britain began its life as a Radio 4 show. As everyone knows, Britain wasn't even in colour until 1950 with people wandering around in black and white until then. Before television, people lived in sound, known as radio. Click here to listen to some radio...close your eyes, and imagine what life was like back in the old days!
