Leftfield & Chill Reviews by Found Sounds
(5 out of 5 stars)
The season of booties, re-edits and retreads continues with this
little gem doting a tribute to the four most charismatic men in
the history of electronic music. If you’re familiar with
the track already (‘Vom Himmel Hoch’) and have a tendency
to balk at any attempt on originals then don’t be shy. Merely
reduced from 17 to seven minutes, it’s as faithful as Old
Shep himself, with all the gnarled, freaked and subverted ingredients
of the original included. Pre clean synth era, this is filthier
than Alf Ramsey’s Porn Dungeon, and therefore demands your
attention now. A seminal unearthing.

Leftfield Reviews by Tom Mugridge

Cheeky one-sided 12 inch re-edit of Kraftwerks ‘Vom Himmel
Hoch’, a track from the time before they were robots and
still jammed with the magnificent Neu! Imagine the alien tripods
from HG Wells’ ‘War of the worlds’, striding
towards you with monstrous bass synths strapped to their shells;
then picture them doing a funky little victory dance over the
burning remains of your parish church. Cool as fuck.
