Undercurrent
is a re-edit of Harry Thumann’s disco instrumental, Underwater.
First
released on Baby Records (Italy) in 1979, it was a milestone for the
dancefloor
and still holds it’s power and charm. This
is Mischief Brew’s fifth release after
‘Kraftywerk’, ‘Lifted’, ‘Requiem’
and Smokey Robinson and the Miracles ‘Want Me’.
Undercurrent
is a mixture of analog and acoustic sounds, with a pulsating bassline,
sweeping synth washes and colourful textures. Mischief Brew re-edit
around the
driving groove and uplifting strings, which build and build towards
an orchestral
climax on this piece of classic disco.
