Track:
HIGH RIDE
Release
Date: March 2006
High
Ride (Ride Me High) is taken from J.J.Cales 1976 album Troubadour
(Shelter Record Label). He is one of the most innovative and unrecognized
artists that has been around for the last thirty years. Most commonly
known
as the writer of the songs “After Midnight” and “Cocaine”,
(covered by Eric Clapton), and with his unique blend of shuffle, blues,
funk and jazz, which has become known as the “Tulsa Sound”.
High
Ride is a deceptively complicated track that undulates
as it rolls along with electronic noises, space sounding backdrops,
fuzz box guitar experiments, and a cool drum break,
which really brings this dirty funk to light.
High
Ride is mischief brew music’s sixth release after ‘Kraftywerk’,
‘Lifted’, ‘Requiem’, ‘Want Me’,
and Harry Thumann’s ‘Undercurrent’.
Timeless,
enduring, fresh sounding, as real and relevant as ever!
