Tucked away in a sheltered corner, Hope Cottage is a Grade II listed flint cottage built in around 1850 and has been renovated and attractively decorated and furnished. Throughout, many finishing touches make the cottage feel extremely homely.  Full central heating makes it cosy and comfortable even in the wintertime.

The sitting room has an original stone floor with a large Turkish rug,  comfortable sofas and an open log fire. There is a colour TV, video, DVD player and stereo CD/radio/cassette player – the owner has equipped the cottage with a selection of videos, DVDs, cassettes, books, magazines and board games for your enjoyment. A telephone for incoming calls is also installed.

There is a large kitchen/dining room looking out onto the pretty walled garden which, in turn, overlooks meadowlands. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern equipment including microwave, yet retains a traditional-feel with old-style design including a Butler sink.

A stable door leads from a small lobby into the garden where privacy, garden furniture and a barbeque make it an ideal place for alfresco eating in the warm weather.

The garden is paved and shingle with large patio areas and various shrub and flower borders

Upstairs off of the landing are two bedrooms and a bathroom. Both bedrooms are fully carpeted and furnished with cottage-style pine furniture. The large double bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe. The other bedroom has a single bed with a full-size pull out bed to make a double or two singles if necessary.  This room overlooks acres of unspoilt meadow where many animals graze along the banks of the river Stour.

The prettily-tiled bathroom is bright and airy with a bath and electric shower, basin and W.C.
