Letters from ex pupils of Watford Central School and Bushey Grammar School published in the Watford Observer.

Over the years many former pupils of the Watford Central and Bushey Grammar Schools will have moved away from the Watford area in search of fame, fortune, or whatever. Consequently few are likely to have been reading the Watford Observer and its weekly Nostalgia page edited by Oliver Phillips. Back in May ‘98 the W.O. published a letter from a Mrs. Conway, an ex Central School pupil now living in Stroud asking - "What happened to the old Central School in Derby Road?" Quite by chance I happened to read this and wrote my reply which was duly printed. Over the next couple of years some twenty three letters were submitted covering various aspects of life in both schools, some serious, some humorous.... So the purpose of this Web page is to give them another airing. The INDEX in the left hand margin shows the names of the authors in the order of publication in the W.O. So just click on the names to open their letters. - - Read on folks, you are bound to recall some of the names - particularly the OAPs amongst us.
