
This picture taken on the day of setup shows the new tank (12x8x9") that is the refuge. Water is fed to the
tank by the skimmer outlet (which is the black lower pipe in the shot) as well as a feed from the skimmer inlet
which is the thinner blue pipe at the rear. I found with the old refuge that was situated in the sump that it was
difficult to establish a suitably low flow through rate. The skimmer feed puts suitable flow in without disturbing
the sand bed. The water exits the refuge via a standpipe to the actual sump area. Currently there is just a single
peice of red algea and small lump of live rock. Various macro algea's will be the next aditions once i source them.
