Setup Photo's

This page is a compliment to the basic setup page......a few pics to help explain the way i've set the tank up. All the small pics lead to a bigger image.

This is the sump from above showing the Eheim 1060 circulation pump & Aquabee pump driving the skimmer.

The Schuran jetskim 120 skimmer.

A shot of the float switch from RS components.Roughly £10 i think which is a good buy considering it hasn't failed in about a year of service. Also in the pic is the main retirn pipe from the display tank.

My effort at a Kalkwasser stirrer (Nilsen Reactor). All i did was drill holes in the side of my old knop reactor chamber & fit a minijet poerhead to stir the mix every now and then.Another thing the IKS does is switch on the minijet at random intervals throughout the day.In the bottom of the container is the Eheim pump which is switched on by the float switch shown in the photo above when the level in the sump drops.

This is the sump in its entirity. From here you can see the area on the right containing the refuge and the small fan for cooling above it. Normal household timers on the right control the actincs for now as i've run out of points on the IKS to plug them in!

yea i know it's a mess! Luckily the door goes back and hides some of the gear in the corner. Future plans sre for some sort of cover for the lights and a proper door to act as a cupboard to hide the IKS and RO resevoir. Note the big fan on the hood too! Other plans include changing that carpet soon :-)
