New Web Host
We’re online with a new web host after being severely let down by our old host (details). We suffered a down time of just about 2 days because of this, and I’m pleased with that. I gather that the DNS resolution (the mechanism the internet uses to recognize that a web site has moved) can take much longer than that unto itself. So from going completely off line to coming back online with a new host I figure that 2 days is a pretty good result.
Dad Almost Home
My father is still in hospital but is likely to return home in the next few days. Getting started on dialysis and the MRSA episode have taken its toll on him, but when I visited him a few days ago it was great to see him back on his two feet and fitter than I can remember seeing him in years. My parents’ 50th anniversary is Saturday (5th April 2008).
It wasn’t so long ago that dads doctor was taking me aside and warning me in no uncertain terms that he probably would not survive his heart attack and the complication of MRSA. The nurses always seemed so much more optimistic about dad’s situation and his many small improvements over the weeks. Their positive attitude really helped dad recover.
