Christmas 2005 at RWF Talking Software
Its a very special time for everyone, and not least of all us here at RWF Talking Software. We’d like to thank all of our customers and all of our supporters for helping us this year. We hope that we have justified your faith in us and we wish you all the very best for the festive season.

If you’re a regular visitor (or even if you just pop in now and then) you’ll know that we try to do our bit here and there. We’ve raised money for the Disasters Emergency Committee, Children in Need and for Marie Curie Cancer Care. In December and January 2006 we are adding Talking Books and Talking Newspapers to our list of charities that we try to help. We’ve been inspired to do so by one of our Talking Dictionary customers who, quite by chance, mentioned that she designed and produced Christmas and Greetings Cards made from textured materials - with all proceeds going to Talking Books and Talking Newspapers.

We were in the process of arranging our Christmas Card list when we got this call and that solved one problem for us right there and then - where to get out cards from! We’d already bought a bunch of labels from RNIB with “Merry Christmas” written in braille but planned to put these onto conventional (albeit custom prepared) printed cards. But the number of people who  can read braille is very low so this was not the best solution. The phone call from Jill Smith was  a godsend and now means that we can send textured cards out to all our friends and supporters.

I hope to be able to provide you with more information about Jill Smith’s cards as soon as we’ve received our first batch. They are priced at 50 pence each and if you’d like to put your name down for a Christmas pre-order it would be a good time to do so as I think demand for these is going to be very, very high once I’ve been able to post more details.

You can contact me personally at webmasterr@rwfts.com if you’d like to place an order or for more information. RWF Talking Software has agreed to pay for all materials used by Jill in the preparation of any orders she receives over Christmas, so providing she has time to produce the cards she won’t get out of pocket making them!

Note that our last order date for Christmas is December 15th. Any orders received after this will be sent in January.

Happy Holidays!
