Updated 28th March 2008:

(Hours Later) We’re Back!
Yes, after many hours of waiting for the DNS entries to propagate we are now back online across most of the worldwide web. The propagation takes between 3 and 5 days to complete. Add that the 3 or 4 days downtime suffered and we’ve been away quite a long time. Way too long for my liking. And that’s why I’ve dismissed our previous host, who is responsible for the crisis.

DWHS have just gone too far
Many of you have probably wondered where our web site has been for the past few days. Well, we wish we knew. Our axed web host, DWHS Web Hosting (www.dwhs.net), managed to have us off the entire world wide web and effectively out of business for more than three days. As I write this on the morning of the 19th March I’m waiting for the DNS propagation to complete, hoping that it has actually started in the first instance. We learned this lesson some time ago but there has never been a fitting time to change our host. However, we’ve determined that DWHS are such a liability now that terminating our relation with them is more important than any other considerations so regardless of the immediate consequences we’re dropping them.

Adult Chicken Pox
What an eventful few days I’ve had. Where to begin? I was sure I’d had chicken pox as a child and I’m now on day 6 or 7 of the dreaded spots. Actually, they are not so dreaded now - just hideous looking. But the terrible itching and discomfort are now at an end. The flu symptoms and restlessness are finished - and thank God for that!  Now I’m covered in red blotches with a face that feels like melted plastic and a skull that feels like a bowl of grapes. And don’t even get me started about washing my hair. Massaging my head - however gentle - feels like soaping up a football someone’s glued a whole bunch of beans to. But I feel better now and work is easier.
