Paul Gray and The Great Wall

Paul Gray and the Great Wall of China

Updated 19th May 2006 - Click this link to find out how Paul and his friends are doing...

Paul Gray was kind enough to offer us some help and assistance following a bit of a problem we were having with the Dixons Group and their courier, DHL. Paul gave us some great advice about handling our complaint and it worked wonders.

When we learned that Paul was involved in a fundraising event Paul Gray Great Wallfor Marie Curie Cancer Care we knew we had to give him a little bit of space on our web site. We hope that our visitors will read Paul’s story and contribute a little to his efforts. People like Paul are making the world a better place, and it really doesn’t take too much to help them do it if we all try just a little.

Paul, who comes from Skegness in Lincolnshire, has signed up for the challenge of a lifetime – he will be trekking along the Great Wall of China for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high-quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families. You can find out more about Marie Curie Cancer Care by following the banner link on the left of the page or by Clicking This Link.

Paul’s challenge will involve trekking for up to 8 hours each day in the Hebei Province of China, and along the Great Wall itself, through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. The Great Wall of China Scenic

He has recently absailed from the Humber Bridge for Marie Curie Cancer Care, and would like to take in part in this challenge in memory of his grandmother Elsie Middleton, who died of cancer and was cared for by a Marie Curie Cancer Care nurse.

Paul Gray and Billy BearPaul said “whilst the support of Marie Curie Cancer Care was a great help when my grandmother was ill, I found the amount of support that they were able to give was limited due to insufficient funds being available to the charity.  The money I raise by doing this challenge will help towards providing more support in the future”.

He has already raised about £1500 for this event, but is looking to raise over £3000 to help support Marie Curie nurses in the UK.  You can sponsor him online at

If you would rather not donate online, you can also send cheques payable to Marie Curie Cancer Care to Paul by post, just E-mail him for details.
