Match report:

This was my first sight of our Under-19 side this season, and to be honest I was not expecting Reading to get much out of this game. Arsenal are clear leaders in our group, and Reading are near the foot of the table. Unlike Chelsea, Arsenal really do have a strong Academy set-up and fielded several players in this game who are on professional contracts.

However, the opening moments of the game showed that I was wrong to be so sure of the outcome. In the first ten minutes, Reading had three really good chances to score - unfortunately, however it was still 0-0 at the end of that spell.
