Matches below where there is a
pyramid icon (
) include a match report. Other links
to Under-19 and Under-17 games will probably show the team line-up
and scorers. Links to games at other age groups are likely to
only show goalscorers. Except for the Under-17s and Under-19s,
updates of results are likely to be patchy.
Home games for the Under-19s and Under-17s will normally take place at the Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, whilst for younger age groups they are played at Cantley Park in Wokingham. To avoid confusion, the table below will show "Bisham" or "Cantley" rather than just stating "Home". For all age groups, kick-off is usually at 11am. (Some games are also taking place in the Academy Dome, shown below as "Dome".)
The 2003/04 FA Premier Academy League for the Under-19 age group consists of four groups, one with ten teams and three with nine. Reading are in the nine-team Group C with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Bristol City, Chelsea, Fulham, Leicester City and Watford. We play each of those eight teams twice each (home and away) plus 10 matches against teams from other groups, making 26 games in all.
There are play-offs for the group winners at the end of the season. These consist of a semi-final and a two-legged final.

Although Reading do not run an Under-18 side as such (apart from friendly games), the FA Youth Cup is for Under-18s. The format is roughly the same as for the FA Cup - Premiership and Division 1 clubs (including Reading, of course) are exempt to the 3rd round, Division 2 and 3 clubs are exempt to the 1st round, and there are qualifying rounds for non-league clubs.
There are no replays in the F.A. Youth Cup. If a match is level at the end of 90 minutes, extra time (with no golden goal rule) and if necessary a penalty shoot-out will determine the winner.
The FA Youth Cup dates below are the dates by which rounds should be completed. Normally, games will take place on midweek evenings.

The 2003/04 FA Premier Academy League for the Under-17 age group consists of four groups, two with six teams and two with eight. Reading are in the eight-team Group D with Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace, Millwall, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wimbledon. We play each of those seven teams twice, plus 12 matches against teams from other groups, making 26 games in all.
In a change to previous seasons, not every Under-17 side will take part in the play-offs. Instead the top two teams from each group will go into quarter-finals (group winners at home), followed by a semi-final and a two-legged final.

Although Reading obviously want to win every match that we play, note that at this age group the performance is far more important. Also either team might include players from a younger age group, or on trial, so that the results should not be given great importance.
