Reading Football Club's nickname is the Royals.
What better mascot could we have than a lion, the king of the
jungle?
And if your answer to that last question is a Berkshire pig, then Kingsley would like you to read the following statement:
"Kingsley Royal understands that the Berkshire pig is a dignified animal, which has its place in Berkshire history. Kingsley would like to point out firstly that it is a Berkshire pig rather than a Reading pig. There is no doubt that the symbol of Reading is a lion. Kingsley believes that the pig has an important place in modern day Reading - that place is on the dining room table."
The 'Keep Kingsley' campaign encourages all Reading fans to eat bacon for breakfast and roast pork for dinner, with some wild boar thrown in for those special occasions. Kingsley has thrown himself into this campaign with the sort of vigour you would expect from a savage carnivorous jungle animal.
