10th September, 2003 - offered resignation as manager of Reading to chairman John Madejski. He turns it down. Hit kerb with motorcar when leaving.

11th September, 2003 - planted several small shrubs and trees

12th September, 2003 - filled in new bed with azaleas

13th September, 2003 - seeded the lawn

14th September, 2003 - planted chrysanthemums and some snapdragons

15th September, 2003 - mowed the lawn

16th September, 2003 - checked all the tropical plants for insects ahead of moving them back indoors

17th September, 2003 - went to garden centre and purchased spring flowering bulbs (saved a bit of money there)

18th September, 2003 - sprayed and hopefully killed all the weeds. Then went to court. Said a load of stuff outside that I didn't believe. Doubt if anyone else will either.

19th September, 2003 - mowed the lawn. Again.

20th September, 2003 - lovely day. Lazed around doing nothing.

21st September, 2003 - I see the Tottenham job's vacant. Better ring my agent. Why didn't I wait.......

22nd September, 2003 - Lot of rain. Excellent for the garden

23rd September, 2003 - gave identical interviews to both Reading papers. Told them both they were getting an exclusive - how I will laugh on Thursday. Thought about starting a new flower bed. Grass looks a bit long.

24th September, 2003 - mowed the lawn after Monday's rain had affected it. No, it really did need doing again, honest.

12th October, 2003 - had an e-mail from some ignorant irritating prat called Asgowling@aol.com - hope he's not a West Ham fan.

 

18th October, 2003 - start new job

19th October, 2003 - start looking for next job
