Now what did we expect from Swansea City in 2000/01? A load of tanked up Welsh thugs taking advantage of the relatively simple trip to cause trouble at our stadium? Offensive chants of "Argentina"? Perfectly acceptable chants calling for the resignation of John Hollins (assuming he's still there)? Self-important posturing from a Welsh windbag by the name of Mike Lewis? Well, yes, all of that. And six points, of course.
And note that I wrote all that before we played them the first time this season. Six points it was.
And what do we expect from Swansea City in 2001/02? Nothing at all - tragically they got relegated.
Some Swansea information:
Record defeat - 0-8 against Liverpool (and only 10 years ago)
Last Reading victory - the last time we played them - 1-0 at their place in February 2001
Nearest station to ground - Swansea
Trivia - In the summer of 2001, Mike Lewis actually bought the club. It cost him £1 plus amusingly a percentage of any sell-on profit he might make in the near future. He was robbed!
