Match preview:

Proper preview to come nearer the date. However, here's the part of my preview for the game postponed in December that still applies.

Getting the ball wide may be a bit of a problem, because looking at the TV pictures from Brighton's FA Cup game against Rushden & Diamonds in December, the Withdean pitch appears exceptionally narrow. The 10-yard corner markers are only about a yard away from the edge of the penalty area, meaning that the total width is about 66 yards. This must surely be the narrowest pitch we will have played on for a long time. (The Football League minimum is 70 yards, so I guess Brighton have special dispensation.) Neil Smith's throws should reach the far post without difficulty, or perhaps even the opposite touchline!

It wouldn't surprise me if the pitch is also quite short given that it is sited within an athletics track, so that should mean a different type of game.

Ticket information:

Brighton's temporary ground, Withdean Stadium, has a capacity of only 6,000 and is expected to sell out for this game. There are only 746 tickets for away fans, all of which are uncovered seating. The game is also all-ticket for home fans.

Away tickets went on sale to season ticket holders at 9am on Wednesday, 21st November and sold out quickly.

Prices are:
Adults - £16.50
Under-16s / seniors - £10.50
This price includes a travel voucher, allowing free travel on train and bus around the whole Brighton area, which is issued when purchasing a ticket. This is also necessary for car drivers, as they are required to use the Park and Ride system. After leaving the M25 and driving down the M23, you get on to the A23. At the first roundabout you meet, go right for the Park and Ride car parks. They are reputably "unmissable".

There are reputedly several tall trees outside the Withdean Stadium that provide a view of the inside of the ground. Ticketless home fans tend to bag the best spots, using their superior local knowledge.
