Match notes:

As it is now November, this match saw the first use of the yellow ball this season.

The only change in personnel from the Bradford City game was that Nathan Tyson replaced John Salako in the starting line-up with Salako on the bench. Also James Harper and Andy Hughes swapped positions.

Salako had been the only player to start every Reading game this season, although Adie Williams and Kevin Watson have started every League game.

Nathan Tyson's start was the first time that he had started a Reading first-team game, although he has previously started League games on loan at both Swansea City and Cheltenham Town.

Ricky Newman's yellow card was his fifth of the season - this means that he is suspended for the Sheffield United away game on 16/11/2002.

The clean sheet was the seventh in the last 11 games, and means that Reading now have the equal best defence in the Division (both us and Leicester City have conceded 14 goals this season).
