Match notes:
Compared to the Burnley game, new signing Luke Chadwick replaced Andy Hughes in the starting line-up. Hughes went onto the bench, at the expense of Jamie Cureton.
Chadwick's goal was heavily deflected, but if he does get the credit for it then it means he is the first Reading player to score on his debut since James Harper on 3/3/2001. Other players scoring in their first game in recent years include Jamie Cureton and Keith Scott.
Steve Sidwell had a penalty saved after 69 minutes.
