Countdown Clock

For over a month, this clock counted down to the time that we would secure promotion. And I was about four minutes out. Then I set it to count down to the time that we would secure the title - this time I was right to within about six minutes. Then it counted down to the kick-off of our first ever Premiership game although that was a couple of minutes out due to a late start.

And now I can't think of anything to set it to count down to, but I'll leave it here for now.

The clock only works if your PC clock is accurate and is also set to UK time.

The rest of this page is still concerned with the 2005/06 season.

Relative progress

This graph compares Reading's 2005/06 record with:

(a) Sunderland in 1998/99 who previously held the record number of points in this division at 105.
(b) Fulham in 2000/01 who are the only team I can think of in this division who made a better start than us but ended up with "only" 101 points.
(c) Sheffield United in 2005/06.
(d) The Record-Breaking Royals of 1985/86.
(e) Tottenham Hotspur from 1960/61 (converted to three points for a win)
(f) Lincoln City from 1975/76 (converted to three points for a win) because after conversion theirs is the highest points total I could find in a 46-game season.
(g) Doncaster Rovers from 1946/47 (converted to three points for a win) because despite only playing 42 games they had the equivalent of 105 points.
(h) Reading's record for the last three seasons.
