Trialists Marcus Richardson and Emilio Cabrera played in this game. Graeme Murty and Chris Smith played their first games since returning from injury. Academy player Mark Boddy is believed to have taken part in the game - I'll add him to the line-up when I can find out where he fits in!

Report and line-up courtesy of The Scribe:

In Reading's first game at Farnborough, Joe Gamble decided to bring some steel to the fixture. After an early booking and two more challenges, the referee suggested that the Reading bench substitute him, which they did. Later on in the half Keith Scott (playing at centre-back) was sent off for a foul, the referee presumably deciding that an old pro couldn't expect to get away with a warning.

By then Reading were leading 2-0, with Richardson getting the first goal, and a McIntyre penalty providing the second. The Scott foul led to a penalty which put Crystal Palace back in the game. Just before half-time Richardson almost made it 3-1 but his shot was cleared off the line.

With the man advantage, Palace scored two more, the first from another penalty. They then had a player of their own sent off, before Richardson pounced for the equaliser when the keeper dropped the ball.
