Barry McCoy

Born in Ascot, 12/10/1980

Centre forward Barry McCoy was on the YTS scheme at Wycombe Wanderers in 1997/98 and played for Wycombe reserves against Reading reserves in September 1998 in one of the first games at Madejski Stadium. He then joined the Reading youth set-up later that year.

He left Reading at the end of the season and went on to captain the Aldershot Town youth team, gaining a first team contract for 1999/2000. He made his full debut for Aldershot (the Ryman League Cup winners the previous season) in the victorious 1999 Ryman Charity Shield match against champions Sutton United. Towards the end of 1999/2000, Aldershot loaned Barry to Fleet Town of the Doc Martens League South East Division. On his return, he made a few first team appearances for Aldershot but they released him at the end of the season. He joined Bracknell Town but left to join Wokingham Town where he stayed for nearly two years.

He started 2002/03 at Binfield, but on 24th October 2002 signed for Windsor & Eton playing in Ryman League Division 1 South. Barry scored two goals on his home debut in the Bryco League Cup against Egham Town on 29th October. In December 2002 he rejoined Wokingham Town in Ryman League Division 2 but after just three games left. He was expected to join Burnham in the Dr Martens League Eastern Division but instead returned to Ryman League Division 1 South and Egham Town. He was still there in February but by April 2003, he was back at Binfield. Also in 2002/03 he played for Bracknell Strikers in the Bracknell Sunday League and took the man of the match award as they won the Shikara Cup.

He started 2003/04 with Binfield but moved backto Wokingham Town in September.
