Tamas Byrne
Goalkeeper. Had a trial for Reading in June 1997 and then had trials for Blackpool, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion. Blackpool offered him a YTS contract in 1997 so he spent two seasons there playing for the youth team and reserves. He also played once for the first team in a Blackpool v Blackpool ex-XI testimonial match. After not being offered a professional contract however he took up an offer from the University of Chicago to play for their football team for four years whilst studying for a degree. After just a few months and a lot of disagreements with the coaching staff he returned to the UK and began training with Northwich Victoria, playing for their reserves until the end of 1999/2000.
As at spring 2001 he was living in Manchester and studying for a degree. He was also playing for his local Manchester League team, East Manchester, and working as a male model (see pictures).
