Following the English Schools Inter Area tournaments at Lilleshall last weekend, Delpare schoolgirl Natasha Wesely has become the latest player from the county to be selected for an England training squad. Natasha played for the Midlands Under 14's who came fourth in their competition and gained selection for the twelve player squad after a series of determined performances for her team.
Also in action over the weekend was former Delpare pupil Angelina Browne who now attends Northampton School for Girls. Angelina lined up for the Midland Under 15's who came runners up in their tournament and she retained her place in the England Cadette squad.
The county now have four girls in England squads the other two being Moulton pupils Sophie Freemen and Andrea Wanstall
Following the break for the Lilleshall weekend this weekend sees National Cup action for three of the county's teams.
On Saturday(3-Nov) the Northants "Lords" (Cadet Men) travel to Taunton "Tigers" and also on Saturday the Cadette Girls take on Rhondda "Rebels". That match will be played at Northampton School for Boys, it tips off at half past five, spectators are welcome and admission is FREE
There's more action at NSB on Sunday(4-Nov) when the Northants "Lightning" (Junior Women) play the Cup holders Doncaster "Panthers". The "Lightning" will be hoping to fare better than when the two sides met in the first match of the season. On that occasion the northerners ran out comfortable eighteen point winners. That match tips off at half past two and again admission is FREE.
