Vestas Blades UK Limited Firework Night

Vestas held a firework night on Friday November 3rd at Newport Football club for employees and their families. The event was well attended and apart from being cold, the weather was ideal for the fireworks. A large display with a big bomb fire at the end, and it was a fantastic evening. The Trust would like to thank everyone at Vestas for choosing us to be their chosen Charity for 2006, and raising £2000.

IW Radio v GKN Charity Football Match

For the third time IW Radio and GKN met on the field of battle for the coveted charity shield. Once again GKN pulled out a 6-4 victory over IW Radio. After the match there was a raffle and skybus were in attendance to entertain in the bar.

A big thanks to Walt for arranging the match, Amy for the fantastic raffle, and Ian Mac for match plugging on his show.

To all that supported the event, thank you all for helping the Trust

 The 2006 STEAM RAILWAY

We were at the steam railway for their 4 days steam festival. Our stall has all the usual items. Lucky Dip -Tombola-Treasure Hunt and of course the jams, chutneys and pickled onions.

A big thank you to Mrs Hartley, Cameron Care and Jemma Bailey who visited our stall more than once during the day. Plus a special thank you to Brandon Care (sat in the foreground of the picture) as he said that our stall was his favourite of the day. Many thanks to you all.

   The 2006 PICKLED ONION WARS.

The 2006 PICKLE WARS took place at The WOODVALE in Gurnard in January, where the Trust had an entry. The competition was strong with 39 entries, at the start. One late arrival made it 40 entries. All were tried, and some I have to say got no marks at all.  We at the Trust entered our favourite brew, and after all the scores were added up, we were proud to have come runner up, and the only onion to get a 10/10.

If you see us out and about on the Island, why not try them for yourselves. (IF YOU ARE BRAVE ENOUGH)
