Chris Holmes

21 year old Chris Holmes from Yorkshire is a rising star in single seater racing. When he first met his manager, Tim Sugden, not only had he never raced - unlike almost every other professional racing driver, he hadn't served the traditional apprenticeship in Karting, and he couldn't even drive a road car. Now he's a race winner!

In the last three years he has raced in Formula BMW for 2 seasons and Formula Renault for 1 season. In 2008 Chris will be racing in the Skip Barber National Championship a leading single seater series in the USA. The season is a seven-weekend, 14-race championship, all run as primary support events at major motorsports race weekends including ALMS, Champ Car and Grand-Am so exposes Chris to the very best the American paddocks have to offer.

The move to the American series is easy to understand given the outstanding prize for the Champion, a fully funded drive in the 2009 Star Mazda series worth over £175,000! As Chris's new mantra goes "I'm going for the win!".

+ "This is a very exciting challenge and I am looking forward to it" says Chris. "The Championship is very competitive which is hardly surprising given the overall prize!".
