  Claire Tippet

In 2004 Claire became the first, and to date the only regular, female entrant in the VW Racing Cup, the country's fastest growing saloon championship. Her determination in her first year was recognised when she won the VW Racing Cup Spirit of the Championship 2004.

In 2005 Claire returned to the VW Racing Cup, once more at the wheel of her Golf Mk1 Gti which at just a year younger than Claire was a popular 'classic' in the series which saw her in the thick of some of the country's most exciting racing. Her 2005 season was rounded off with a strong finish in the Birkett 6Hour Relay at Silverstone, where she joined fellow VW racers in the aptly named 'Bugs, Golfs and a Boot' team finishing a credible 7th in class.

In 2006 and 2007, Claire has taken a sabbitical from racing but remains strongly involved in the sports as a self employed ARDS Instructor. She has recently been instructing V8s in Australia and has returned to the UK to work in the GP Masters series. She remains available for invitation drives and continues to support events raising the awareness of women in motorsport.
