Boot
Before starting on the rear bodywork it was necessary to panel out the boot, which is actually unusually big for such a small se7en. First job was to fit the side panels, which took a lot of measuring and an MDF template in the now time-honoured manner. These were riveted to the chassis and sealed in a futile attempt to prevent too much water getting into the boot from underneath.
The kit came with a great big bit of black GRP intended for use as the boot floor and to make the straight bit along the back chassis rail and the curved fillets inside the wheel arches to bond the rear bodywork section to. I decided to make the floor section from 18G aluminium sheet and used the GRP where necessary for bonding.
