HART MALE VOICE CHOIR
Young Singers 2008

Anna Sideris

Anna Sideris’ interest in classical singing began at a very young age while singing with the children’s choruses for the English National Opera and Holland Park Opera. She is currently studying singing at the Junior Royal Academy of Music (JRAM) under Sara Reynolds, the Head of Vocal Studies and has recently finished touring with Young Opera playing Suzanna in Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’. She performs frequently in concerts with The Reynolds Singers and as part of the Southdown Savoyards Company, performing roles such as May Queen in ‘Merrie England’ by Edward German, Elsie in ‘The Yeoman of the Guard’ by Gilbert and Sullivan, and Belinda in Purcell’s ‘Dido and Aeneas’. With the vocal department at the JRAM she has performed Emmie in ‘Albert Herring’ by Britten and the Counsel in Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘Trial by Jury’. Last year Anna won the Young Musician Prize at The Farnham Music Festival and the Ann Lampard Prize for a Young Singer at The Godalming Music Festival.
Anna’s plans for the summer include touring again with Young Opera; playing Miss Wordsworth in Britten’s ‘Albert Herring’, and in September 2008 she will be beginning her undergraduate music degree at Oxford University.
