and a quick count reveals only 11 tricks, where is the 12th coming
from?
Hearts 3-3 unlikely if west has 7 spades, must be some sort of
squeeze.

If we cash our 11
tricks East will feel no pressure and will be left with 2
red suit winners, so is there an answer? I think so, we
have to take away East's spare card and rectify the
count. Lets examine what happens if we duck the opening
lead.
East continues, we win and cash 4 clubs and the A
now a total of 7 tricks reducing East to
6 cards, in order to keep 4 hearts he cannot keep 3 diamonds,
he is squeezed.
In order for this to work East had to be the sole person
guarding both hearts and diamonds but with West holding 7
spades this is a strong possibility.
!Well played!
