West
leads the A
and continues with the K .
South ruffs the second round
and plays trumps, you duck and win the 2nd round partner
following. If you force him again reducing him to 1 trump he
will just knock out the A §
before drawing the last trump
therefore you switch to diamonds. !Wrong!
You forgot to count. Declarer has 4 trump tricks, 3 club tricks
so if he has A& K he has 9 tricks therefore you have to
presume partner has a
honour. Declarer
had AJx in diamonds so opening the suit for him gave him 2
tricks and his contract. This called for a passive defense, just
exit a trump and let him get on with it, !just count! |
