Declarer
trumps the 2ndand leads a to the Q and another on which
east discards a.You
win with the 9 and its you to go. Well we could play a trump,
declarer wins in hand and trumps awith the Kªand draws trumps conceding a.Plan
B, we could play a diamond same result. Can we beat this? How
about the no-no ruff and discard, he can ruff in either hand but
just cant manage. Lets say he ruffs in dummy, he can play A§
and ruff a§ruff awith the Kªand draw trumps but he has no
more trumps and is still missing the A.
He would do better to ruff
in hand and ruff alow in dummy and its over to
east. He must !NOT! over ruff. Declarer can play A§
ruff a§and ruff anotherlow but this time east
overruffs and forces him with a§and he is a trick short.
There's more to this game than meets the eye.
